Planning a Spring Wedding in Erie, PA

We initially met Andrew & Veronica about a year prior to their spring wedding to discuss what they wanted for their big day. After determining that we could meet their needs, we began the planning process. The couple booked us for Day of Coordination, Master of Ceremonies, Disc Jockey, Up Lighting, and Photo Booth. Over the next few months, Andrew & Victoria began to fill in our easy-to-use online planning forms at their convenience.

A few weeks prior to their wedding, we met with the venue manager, Bill Miller from Sabella’s Catering, to go over the floor plan and expected a timeline of the evening. Two weeks prior to the wedding, we met with the couple once again and finalized the plan for the night to ensure it was perfect. Once we had their timeline, we went to work behind the scenes to create their customized playlist, and Photo Booth Design.

How We Made it Work

On the day of the wedding, we arrived early in the morning to ensure every detail of our set-up was taken care of so that their night would be flawless. Their venue, The Boston Store, is a historic landmark. Therefore, the old building provided some unique challenges as there were limitations in electrical usage.

Additionally, there was also a long hallway-style lobby with large pillars on either side. Although the lack of electrical outlets proved to be a bit of an obstacle, we worked around the issues. An onsite visit earlier in the process allowed us to plan for extension cords and also the fact that we only use LED lighting, which requires less electrical usage during the evening for dancing.

Uplighting a Spring Wedding

Our wireless Up Lighting was perfect for the environment as it runs on a battery charge and is remote controlled. The Up Lighting comes preprogrammed in 64 unique, brilliant colors. We found the perfect shades of coral and blue to accent the couples wedding colors which were navy and coral.

Wedding Photo Booth Rental

We used the layout of the hall to our advantage with our equipment, setting up the Photo Booth and Memory Keepsake Book station directly across the dance floor and out of the way for dinner service. The couple and their guests enjoyed the Roaring Twenties Themed Prop Experience that the couple selected to enhance the feel at the historic venue. We used a classic pattern in black and coral to bring some of the couples wedding color into their customized photo strip. The booth printed 2 duplicate copies of each session. Guests kept one as their wedding favor, while one of our friendly Photo Booth Attendants encouraged the guests to create a page in the couple’s Memory Keepsake Book that went home with them that evening. That book gives them years of memories to treasure as they look back on that day.

Our Photo Booth is manned by a team. One Photo Booth Operator maintains the booth, explains the process to guests and keeps the area tidy. Meanwhile, the Memory Book Attendant assists guests and encourages them to leave a well-wish and decorate the page with their duplicate photo strip. This ensures the couple walks away holding magical memories in their hands.

Choose a DJ & get a Wedding Planner, too?

We also have an advantage over any other wedding disc jockey in that we do not work alone or with an assistant. Our wedding professionals have distinct and separate roles and they work in teams. Each wedding is served by both a Disc Jockey who is responsible for sound, lighting and music selection throughout the night. Meanwhile, our Wedding Coordinator, who also serves as the MC and oversees the timeline. In addition, she keeps in constant communication with the other wedding professionals, bridal party, family, and the couple during the wedding. Also, the emcee makes every special announcement to ensure not a moment is missed by the guests. No other local Erie DJ Company works in this aspect.

A total of four team members was involved in planning and performing this spring wedding. Between the prep prior to the wedding day to our face-to-face meetings, online communication, and our day-of setup, which began at around 9 am, we spent about 40-50 hours dedicated to Andrew and Victoria’s wedding.
